I love food and fitness! Growing up homemade cooking, baking, pickling, canning, was a regular event. I learned that food was fuel and everything in moderation. You ate your nutritious dinner and finished it off with something sweet. This helped me learn a healthy attitude towards food.
I moved to Sudbury, Ontario for post-secondary and obtained my diploma in fitness and health. During my college program, I ran cross country, worked at a local gym where I personal trained, worked the front desk, and taught aerobic classes. My second placement was in a rehabilitation unit at the hospital, where I was able to join a rehabilitation team focused on brain injuries and spinal cord injuries. I enjoyed working with this private rehabilitation company for 10 years. My love for physiology and nutrition continued and during a break from the workforce to stay home with younger children, I had a chance to complete my Nutrition Coaching through Precision Nutrition, as well as my Personal Training certification. I am eager to continue to learn and educate myself through continuing education, especially in sleep and recovery, post partum, and athletic performance.
I continue to pursue my personal fitness goals through running, CrossFit, triathlons, and ultimate frisbee!
